Chris Burns over at Android Commmunity today managed to get his hands on (or at least glance at) a rather massive leaked roadmap of CDMA devices; all intended for US release. Now, we haven’t actually seen the roadmap in question, so I’m flagging this one as a rumor, but just the same…it’s a right juicy one.

According to Burns (who’s remained silent over what all the other handsets in the list might be), there’s two phones that everyone who’s a fan of the Android OS should most definitely be interested in. Both are remakes of extremely popular models.  Both possess 4G capabilities. And finally, both are slated to release some time in Q3 2011- which is anywhere from July to September. Pretty near at hand, in other words.

The fist of these phones is the Samsung Epic 2, which is going to feature a plethora of improvements over the original phone- which was pretty nice to begin with. In addition to the hardware already packed on to the original model, the Epic 2 is said to feature a 4 inch display, a 1.2 GHz single core Hummingbird processor, and an 8 MP camera on the back.  That’s a full .2 GHz over the processor in the Epic 1, and several megapixels over the original’s camera. Might not seem like much, but hey, every bit counts.

Thought the Motorola XOOM was dead? Well think again little man. The new version of the Motorola XOOM which is headed for Verizon Wireless is packing 4G LTE speeds on the  inside along with Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) at the helm. If you remember correctly, the original XOOM is capable of kicking 4G LTE speeds, however, the feature was disabled, but can be enabled if brought to a Verizon store when the date comes around.

The time to upgrade all XOOMs to 4G LTE is still unknown, yet Verizon and Motorola chooses to sell the same device, a device that is the same compared to the original XOOM with the only exception being the enabled 4G. The new tablet will be called the Motorola XOOM 4G, how original.

Are you planning stick with the old Motorola XOOM or jump ship to a new one?

Those of you who are (still) eagerly awaiting the Droid Bionic might not have to wait all that much longer. Motorola’s beefy new smartphone might just have received a release date- and this isn’t just a rumor, either- Motorola’s confirmed it.

At one point, the Droid Bionic was said to be the most powerful smartphone to hit the market. Motorola’s Droid Bionic is packing 16 GB of built in memory, a 1 GHz dual core processor and 512 MB RAM/2 GB ROM in addition to being the first LTE-equipped Verizon smartphone. I’m not really sure it’s the most powerful to hit the market, but just the same…the specs are really nothing to sneeze at. On a side note, I can’t say I’ve seen a device packing ROM for a long while. Anyway, I’ll get to the actual story- the release.

Couple days ago, Motorola confirmed that the phone’s coming very, very soon, via their Twitter: “Hang tight, DROID Bionic is coming and slated for summer release. Our team is working on some new updates.”

Of course, ‘this summer’ isn’t all that specific, is it? I’ve got something more for you, of course. According to a post last week on Planet Insane, the Droid Bionic’s going to be hitting the market 0n July 4. Not sure about where the rumor stems from- the article wasn’t exactly clear on that- but an Independence Day launch might be just what the Bionic needs- maybe with a hefty discount on the price, to boot. After all, given how many times the phone’s been delayed, I’m sure everyone who was looking forward to it is getting tired of waiting.

At a recent developer conference held by Nokia, CEO Stephen Elop let loose out of his pocket the first Nokia Windows Phone 7 smartphone. Despite Elop’s attempt to get the crowed to put away all cameras, someone managed to capture some images along with a video for all of us to see.

Nokia’s first Windows Phone 7 based handset is dubbed the “Sea Ray” and the design of the hardware resembles that of the Nokia N9 Meego based smartphone. At first glance, it appears the device is rocking a 4-inch screen, unfortunately we have no confirmation on that so our speculations are running rampant. The most important part of the hardware is the Gorilla Glass, we’ve been stressing for months that every smartphone with huge screens should be rocking Gorilla Glass or its competitor.

At the end of everything, the crowd was satisfied and the first Nokia Windows Phone 7 handset was leaked via some Nokia employee, what’s better than that?

The BaskourtBoard app for iPhone is the ultimate application for basketball players and coaches everywhere. It doesn’t matter if you’re not yet a pro or are just playing with a bunch of guys from your neighborhood. It helps to develop smart plays and strategize so you can get better at the game. And what could be more winning than actually winning games right?

To win at basketball, you need to have a team who know what they’re doing on the court and off the court. By off the court, I mean that they probably can think up of some plays and plans on their own to apply during the game. When you’re on the go and don’t have a dry or white board to draw up some plays, then simply take out your iPhone and start planning plays right then and there. This app will make your iPhone the perfect offline gaming companion.

Description:

A e-version Basketball Strategy / Coaching Board
End-user, especially Coach, can use it to show players the match strategy

Baskourtboard contains Full Court and Half Court views, and the feature to set number of players in the court. End-user can also customize their court color.

I’m a person who lives with a lot of to-do lists in a day. I have one for work, one for home, and one for personal stuff. It might seem like a whole lot of lists, but it really helps to be organized. I used to write down all of my lists on separate sheets of paper, and because of my harried schedule, I’d lost one of these to my chagrin. Well, not anymore, not with the Air Todo iPhone app.

The developers of this app have made things more convenient by storing your to-do list on their cloud servers, so you can retrieve it anytime, anywhere you want to. Never again lose a list. When you complete a task, simply tap it to check it off. It’s that simple, easy, and convenient.

Description:

Air Todo is a simple todo management software. It is very easy to use. It features cloud syncing. All your todos will be automatically synced with Air Todo server. So, all your Macs, iPhones, iPod touches, and iPads can get up to date with what you are going to do and what you have already done.

There’s nothing worse than surfing the web on your phone and encountering a page that’s clearly not optimized to be viewed from a mobile platform. Either the page doesn’t load at all, or it loads in such a distorted fashion as to be nearly unreadable, wasting a metric ton of bandwidth in the process. Those of you who use the Google Sites service are in luck- Google’s just released an update for Google Sites that optimizes pages the app  hosts for mobile platforms.

Optimizing your website for the mobile platform is quick, simple, and painless. You’ll just need to go to General Settings->More Actions->Manage Site->Automatically adjust for mobile phones. Like I said: quick, simple, and painless. Once you’ve completed that task, you can preview your site  with the Preview as viewer option (also under More Actions).  Here are a few of the more obvious adjustments Google’s new function will make to your web page(Android Central):

  • Aligning the header layout and top bar
  • Fitting the width of the site to match the device’s width
  • Smart handling of sidebars, horizontal navigation, and dropdown links
  • A revamped Sites dashboard, optimized for mobile viewing
  • Granting the user more control over the links that appear in the page footer in order to save space ( good for mobile users who don’t really have a lot of viewing space to begin with)

Gotta say, I’m impressed with Google’s initiative here. Hopefully other hosts and domains start to follow their example. Mobile phones have gotten too huge to simply ignore them, and with more and more people surfing the web on their handset, many sites are going to have to either optimize or be left in the dust. That’s my prediction anyway- take it as you will. The service works with iOS 3/Android 2.2 or higher.

How many times have you made a mental note to call someone, only to forget all about it and realize at the end of the day that you failed to make that important call or answer someone who left a message for you on your phone? This has ultimately happened to me a lot of times, but the PhoneSheet for BlackBerry app wants to mange your calls so that this won’t happen ever again.

What happens is I make a mental note to give the other person a ring back, and just forget about it as work and task after task piles up for me during the day.

This has resulted in a lot of hassles, delays, misunderstandings, and miscommunication–all of which can be avoided and eliminated, had I remembered to make this call. By managing them with the PhoneSheet, the number of literal missed calls you’ll be having will also dwindle down.

Description:

PhoneSheet is a simple, reliable and secure call management solution to avoid lost messages and forgotten follow-ups. The app works to keep you in sync with your PhoneSheet.com account or as a standalone product.

PhoneSheet seamlessly integrates with the BlackBerry® phone call process prompting users to track their message without having to think about it. And its access to the address book means most of the message is already pre-populated. Managing phone messages couldn’t easier.

Users have total access to their PhoneSheet online and can give access to multiple users from multiple locations to make updates. PhoneSheet’s synchronized database will constantly maintain the message sheet making it a must-have mobile CRM tool for the professional on the go.

Sometimes, we hear (or overhear) something that we must keep to ourselves. Not all secrets are meant to be shared, and no one wants to be friends with a rumormonger, right? We all know what the right thing to do is. However, that doesn’t make actually doing it any easier. So whenever you feel like you need to spill the beans or say what you know out loud, then tell it all to the iWhisper for your iPhone.

Scream, whisper, yell, or just say whatever secret you can’t keep anymore to the iWhisper. Unlike human listeners, this app will record what you just said and the only people who can hear about it are those who probably live a few hundred miles away from you. Just be sure you don’t mention any specific names and locations and you’re all set.

If you’re in a nosy mode and have no secrets of your own to share, then just power up the iWhisper and spend the night listening to secrets that other people are willing to tell.

Description:

iWhisper will allow you to share that secret that has been playing on your mind. You can record a secret and share it with the world.
Don’t have any secrets then you can just choose to listen to others secrets. Give it a go and see what hidden secret you can find.

-Features
–Recording secrets.
–Sharing to cloud.
–Listening to secrets.

The tech world stood still yesterday as Microsoft unveiled more features in the much anticipated Windows Phone 7 update, Mango, but another important announcement was lost in all the fanfare, and that is the new version of Windows Phone 7 Marketplace Web Store.

The web Marketplace will get a facelift along with some much needed features just in time for the Mango release this Fall/Autumn, the features are not revolutionary but great nonetheless. If you remember, Google launched its own Android Market on the web last year, one of the key features that made it awesome will make its way to Windows Phone 7 web Marketplace. What is this feature you ask, well, the option to download applications over the air, meaning, you download an app from your desktop which get sent your your Windows Phone 7 device and installed right away.

Mango and the new Windows Phone 7 update is expected this Fall/Autumn, we hope no delays are forthcoming.

LG Optimus 3D to Land in Europe

Posted by Perusal Thursday, October 6, 2011 0 comments

LG Optimus 3D is now available on the European market, Connect informs. The gadget was first introduced during the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona in February and offers full 3D experience allowing users to record, play and share video content with all their friends.

The phone integrates a Tri-Dual architecture, capable to open a new chapter in terms of smartphone performances, according to Jong-Seok Park, LG’s CEO.

But what does the  Tri-Dual technology mean? Unlike other smartphones – namely those equipped with dual-core processors offering high processing speed – that do not take advantage of this technology because they lack proper single-channel configuration, LG Optimus 3D brings a dual-channel configuration which means that data transfer between the dual-core and dual-memory is instant. This translates into a  better performance level, explained the Korean company.

Apart from the Tri-Dual architecture and the possibility of recording 3D 720p at 30 frames per second, the smartphone offers other features just as attractive: a 4.3-inch WVGA screen, HDMI 1.4 connectivity and a dual 5MP camera.

LG Optimus 3D  runs Android 2.2 Froyo.

The Motorola Droid 3 is coming and it will kick some serious ass if these leaked details turn out to be true. The member of the family could very well feature a dual core processor from wither NVIDIA or OMAP, we are expecting Nokia to go with the latter instead.

More details include the Droid 3 having an 8MP camera, HDMI out, front facing, 4 inch qHD screen camera for video chatting, and a slideout physical keyboard, sounds lovely doesn’t it? Sure it does. Many of you might want the Motorola Droid 3 to come out gunning with Verizon Wireless 4G LTE inside, unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case, maybe running 4G on a dual core powered mobile device would kill the battery life in a matter of minutes.

We now patiently await the official words from Motorola and Verizon Wireless.

Motorola’s next potential big hit is the Droid X2, for the folks who are getting ready to snatch it up from Verizon Wireless, you all will be happy to know that is now available in stores, just waiting for you to come pick it up.

The Motorola Droid X2 is one of those phones that just screams sex all over, it is sleek, sexy, and super fast with that NVIDIA Tegra 2 1GHz dual core processor at the core of things. The only real downside, is the fact that it comes with Android 2.2 (Froyo) instead of Gingerbread, but worry not, Gingerbread update is expected at some point, hopefully in the near future.
