The Nexus S is the first phone to run Gingerbread, the most advanced version of Android to date and it promises to be the fastest there is. This phones web browser is incredibly fast, loading pages quickly and correctly. What’s more, the Nexus S runs Flash player support, meaning web pages can be viewed exactly as they were designed to be and this importantly does not slow the browser down. The touch screen however is slightly disappointing, apps do open quickly, however is not as smooth as with the Iphone. For example, on the Nexus S you zoom into web pages using multi touch features, which is a little bit more awkward than the Iphone4. The Nexus also features NFC (near field communication) technology, which has caught on in Japan but yet to really take elsewhere by storm. This technology means that you can use your phone as a means of transmitting information, for examply, it could be used as an Oyster card or to make small payments. You will be able t hover your phone over a movie poster and information will be stored and saved onto your phone.
The Nexus has an impressive 16GB of memory (though no memory card slot) and 1GHz hummingbird processor, this will be a great phone for gaming. The attractive curvature of the handset means that this is deemed to be one of the most usable phones on the market.
So, what is the verdict? If you are looking for a high-end phone with lots of interesting technical features, then this is a great investment. However, rather than being technologically groundbreaking the Nexus is more subtly improved to create a slightly better model to its rivals. The Nexus is not the most simple phone to use with its extensive list of features and options, so if you are not looking to invest some time getting to customise your phone to make it most usable for you, then this is probably not the right choice. The Nexus S does not come cheap, so in order to make it a worthy investment, you will have to be prepared to play about a bit to make sure you are making the most of this phones’ many features. It might be an idea to compare mobile phone recycling so you can be certain that you are getting the best deal on the market.
