KatyPerry's latest single "Firework" is coming to mobile phones via aspecial branded version of the popular Tap Tap Revenge franchise.Fans can download the game to listen to the tune free of charge fora week before the song's radio debut.
What's novel about this approach is that the game is sponsored byMicrosoft's Bing search engine, carrying the snappy title "KatyPerry Revenge by Bing." In addition to naming rights, the Bingengine is embedded in the game so users can search for lyrics toPerry's songs and find other information.
According to Tap Tap Revenge developer Tapulous, recently acquiredby Disney Mobile, this is the first time the firm has created asponsored app in this fashion, but plans to do more goingforward.
