Those of you who are (still) eagerly awaiting the Droid Bionic might not have to wait all that much longer. Motorola’s beefy new smartphone might just have received a release date- and this isn’t just a rumor, either- Motorola’s confirmed it.
At one point, the Droid Bionic was said to be the most powerful smartphone to hit the market. Motorola’s Droid Bionic is packing 16 GB of built in memory, a 1 GHz dual core processor and 512 MB RAM/2 GB ROM in addition to being the first LTE-equipped Verizon smartphone. I’m not really sure it’s the most powerful to hit the market, but just the same…the specs are really nothing to sneeze at. On a side note, I can’t say I’ve seen a device packing ROM for a long while. Anyway, I’ll get to the actual story- the release.
Couple days ago, Motorola confirmed that the phone’s coming very, very soon, via their Twitter: “Hang tight, DROID Bionic is coming and slated for summer release. Our team is working on some new updates.”
Of course, ‘this summer’ isn’t all that specific, is it? I’ve got something more for you, of course. According to a post last week on Planet Insane, the Droid Bionic’s going to be hitting the market 0n July 4. Not sure about where the rumor stems from- the article wasn’t exactly clear on that- but an Independence Day launch might be just what the Bionic needs- maybe with a hefty discount on the price, to boot. After all, given how many times the phone’s been delayed, I’m sure everyone who was looking forward to it is getting tired of waiting.
