Chris Burns over at Android Commmunity today managed to get his hands on (or at least glance at) a rather massive leaked roadmap of CDMA devices; all intended for US release. Now, we haven’t actually seen the roadmap in question, so I’m flagging this one as a rumor, but just the same…it’s a right juicy one.
According to Burns (who’s remained silent over what all the other handsets in the list might be), there’s two phones that everyone who’s a fan of the Android OS should most definitely be interested in. Both are remakes of extremely popular models. Both possess 4G capabilities. And finally, both are slated to release some time in Q3 2011- which is anywhere from July to September. Pretty near at hand, in other words.
The fist of these phones is the Samsung Epic 2, which is going to feature a plethora of improvements over the original phone- which was pretty nice to begin with. In addition to the hardware already packed on to the original model, the Epic 2 is said to feature a 4 inch display, a 1.2 GHz single core Hummingbird processor, and an 8 MP camera on the back. That’s a full .2 GHz over the processor in the Epic 1, and several megapixels over the original’s camera. Might not seem like much, but hey, every bit counts.
